Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has returned to work almost a month after being attacked by a mentally unstable man at a party meeting in Milan.
Prime Minister Berlusconi was ordered to rest for almost four weeks after a man threw a small replica of Milan Cathedral at him. He suffered a broken nose, cuts and a tooth was knocked out. Mr Berlusconi says he has made a full recovery.
On its first day back at work, the prime minister was busy working out a strategy to regain his immunity from prosecution. Several cases against Mr Berlusconi were suspended as he had immunity from prosecution as serving prime minister due to a law that he pushed through after winning the 2008 election. However, the constitutional court ruled that the law was unconstitutional in October 2009 and legal proceedings against Mr Berlusconi are scheduled to resume in January and February.
