The Belgian teacher who has admitted murdering three people has now confessed to committing five rapes.

Belgian prosecution authorities say the rapes took place in Hasselt between 2002 and 2006. They are investigating a number of other cases.

Reports are circulating that the man has confessed to a fourth murder but the authorities are refusing to confirm or deny this.

The 38-year-old technical drawing teacher was arrested in Loksbergen in northern Belgium at the beginning of this month after his neighbour and her boyfriend were found dead.
