Air traffic controllers in Belgium will begin industrial action at 22:00 on Tuesday evening. The action is expected to halve air travel at the Liège and Zaventem (Brussels) airports.
The controllers are demanding clarity from their employer, Belgocontrol, about the financial situation within the company. Last week, an investigation concluded that Belgocontrol is badly managed and suffering severe financial problems. The unions say there is a complete lack of trust between management and personnel.
