British Airways is resorting to legal action to prevent Christmas strike action by its cabin crew. The company says the planned strikes between 22 December and 2 January will ruin the festive season for millions of people.
The workers opted to strike on Monday after pay talks failed. Last month British Airways announced job cuts of 1700 among its 14,000 cabin crew, in addition to a two-year wage freeze.
The loss-making airline says the cutbacks are needed to prevent the company from going under in a shrinking market.
