Four Premier League games were played in the Netherlands on Saturday. AZ lost for the third time in a row, with NEC beating AZ which was playing on its home turf 1-0. Lorenzo Davids scored the only goal of the game a few minutes before the end.

Heracles and Sparta tied 1-1, with Rotterdam playing with ten men during the last quarter of an hour after defender Emmanuel Boakye was sent off with a red card. Roda JC beat NAC 2-0 during a home game. Both goals were scored by Mads Junker. Vitesse won its first home game of the season, defeating RKC Waalwijk 3-1.

In Friday's only Premier League match, Willem II beat FC Groningen 2-1.
