Australia is demanding more information from China about the imprisonment in Shanghai of an Australian executive for the Rio Tinto mining company. Australia's Trade Minister Simon Crean has taken up the matter with the authorities in Shanghai.
The top executive was arrested last week along with three Chinese colleagues on suspicion of espionage. Mr Crean has insisted that while he respects the Chinese legal system, he wants to know exactly what the situation is.
