Apologetic Woods sets no date for return

Published on 19 February 2010 - 10:55pm
More about:

Golf star Tiger Woods says he intends to return to professional golf but does not yet know when. Woods left the game in December after admitting he cheated on his wife.

Woods was speaking at a news conference broadcast live by many US TV stations. It was his first public appearance since crashing his car outside his home in late November. The incident prompted widespread allegations of repeated infidelity.

During the news conference, Woods apologised to his wife, family, friends and sponsors for what he called his "irresponsible and selfish behaviour". He said he had undergone 45 days of therapy to repair his personal life and would return to the treatment centre on Saturday.
