Another toddler dies of AH1N1 flu

Published on 10 November 2009 - 5:16pm
More about:

Another young child has died of Mexican flu in the Netherlands. The boy aged 2 had been admitted to the Nijmegen University Medical Centre with flu symptoms, and was suffering from other ailments as well.

The boy is the youngest victim so far. The National Insitute for Public Health announced on Friday that so far seventeen people had died of the new influenza A variant.

Health Minister Ab Klink decided on Monday that all children between six months and five years old should be vaccinated against the AH1N1 flu. The disease appears to affect relatively many young children, given the number of them that are admitted to hospital.
