Another Neapolitan Mafia member held

Published on 7 November 2009 - 8:35pm
More about:

Italian police have arrested another top member of the Neapolitan Mafia. Luigi Esposito is part of the Nuvoletta clan and has been on the run for six years.

He was picked up at a villa in Naples where he had been living under an assumed name for some time. He will have to serve a nine-year sentence for drugs trafficking and membership of a criminal organisation.

He was on a list of Italy's 30 most-wanted criminals, 15 of whom have now been arrested. Last week, police detained three brothers from the Neapolitan Mafia's infamous Russo clan.
