About 2,300 residents of the village of Maierato in the southern Italian region of Calabria have been evacuated after a landslide.
The village is in danger after a large section of a hill came sliding down. Mayor Sergio Rizzo called the landslide an "apocalyptic spectacle".
On Sunday, 1,500 residents of the village of San Fratello on Sicily were evacuated after a landslide covered most of the village in mud. The landslides in southern Italy are the result of several days of heavy rainfall.
