Sorry for answering so late! It's Maurice Ravel's Pavane pour une infante défunte, played by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, conducted by Carlo Maria Giulini (Sony SK 66832). Glad you like it!

They are two collections of Christmas carol arrangements for String Quartet and the first album was played on several classical radio stations throughout the world (including extensive airplay on Classic FM here in the U.K.) last year.
