A decision by Canada to give a white South African refugee status has angered the ANC, South Africa's ruling party. Pretoria accuses Canada of racism.
Last week, the Canadian immigration service awarded 31-year-old Brandon Huntley refugee status. He said he could not return to the country because he would be persecuted by black South Africans because of the colour of his skin.
The ANC says the allegations are sensation-seeking and they have not been investigated. Racism is a sensitive issue in South Africa which abolished apartheid in 1994.
