Just skimming these comments it appears there is lots of anger and extreme opinions out there. My recent stay in Amsterdam was the best. I disagree with the negative comments in the TV program. What O'Reilly and guests had to say was news to me, obviously for the most part untrue. Americans will not believe any such subjective opinions just because a TV personality looking for ratings and controversy says so.

Well, it's easier to talk about others problems than your problems, I get it. Still, I don't think Fox News built their news out of nothing. Legalized drugs and prostitution in Amsterdam did make the place attractive for dealers and traffickers, we can't deny that. Maybe there's no anarchy in Amsterdam but keeping drug use under control seems like a better option, but that's just my opinion.

I just wanted to apologize for Fox News and Bill O'Reilly, as he does not represent the USA nor does he represent the populist view in the USA, nor my views as an American citizen. Fox TV represents less than 15% of the population, less than 15%. A group of people with marginal, limited and racial perceptions on most all races, countries and opinions that are not in accord with theirs.

Nothing said by Bill O'Reilly is taken seriously in the United States, as it is not based on facts but rather his perception of the facts, his opinion. He is not important. He is always offensive. He is also disliked in the USA. This is not new. He offends his own people as well as others. He is paid by his group to continue fostering ignorance and hate among the few that bother to listen. Fox is the TV station for the undereducated and uninformed masses. Less than 15%.

You have wasted your time in giving him a minute of your time. As an American citizen I can tell you most americans will laugh or flip the channel when O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Hannity are on the air, as these people use their education to foster and feed the ignorant and the religious extreme conservatives with their outdated, racial, hateful and limited perceptions wrapped in a cloth of religious morality.

do not agree with that at all. i was just in amsterdam, for 3 days and it was a great city. loved it. didn't get any crime while i was there, people were all nice and friendly.. the americans dont like it because it HAS worked and they cant seem to accept it... but i was JUST there yesterday and it was a buzzing city. amazing, beautiful cultured... so im telling everyone that this is a lie.. dont let it put you off. i was there i really enjoyed it , its a cool city.. and i completely disagree with what this is saying .... a great city a great system , it works. the americans are scared because this system does actually work and they dont like it so they will tell lies to put off anyone from going there. but the people where cool, the city is cool. a great place to go visit i defiantly would recommend going there

You are the ass for not admitting that Amsterdam has legalized prostitution and drug use, and that Dutch laws are very liberal. If Radio Netherlands won't tell people the truth then someone has to paint the real picture. Amazing...so many people say they hate Fox News, yet it's by far the highest rated news network in the USA, much higher than CNN or anyone else. Amsterdam may be a nice city and Holland a nice country, but it's extreme in it's liberal views. What everyone seems to be missing and its' no surprise, in comparing Holland to the USA is like apples to oranges and not even on the same map. We have a right to carry guns, the Dutch do not. Before your borders were open you needed a passport/I.D. to travel within Europe, we have 50 States and have never had to show any I.D. to travel from one State to the other. We have 325 million people with appro. 25 million illegals, we think, the Dutch have how many millions? I´ve lived in the USA, Belgium, Netherlands, Singapore, Argentina and the Philipines. Traveled almost everywhere else. Amsterdam is beautiful, wonderful, tourist-friendly, relatively safe with one of the best airports of the world! And yes: there are people in Amsterdam who use drugs and visit prostitutes just like in any other big city in the world (except the USA???????). I found the commentaries of the two females particularly disturbing. They showed a pathetic lack of knowledge on the subject with a frightening, narrow minded, trigger happy judgemental opinion. And mind you: one is a Ph.D. and the other is a republican strategist! Where did THEY go to school? Really scary people!

If there was an award for blatant ignorance in broadcasting, it should go to OReilly / FOX news, and the propoganda they pump out is nothing more than sensationalist, irresponsible crap, designed to attract more viewers. (Good luck with that.) Studies all confirm that Mr. Nieuwenhuijs is correct. In addition, more Dutch kids quit using because they get BORED with it! I don't know about failings of Amsterdam society, but the display of gross ignorance by the voice of Fox News Oreilly when ever he opens his mouth assures me that what ever the fairy tale to come will be just that! Afairey tale. My guess is that Europeans are rarely subjected to the drivel from Fox news so they are surprised when the strange tales emerge. All north Americans can if they wish subscribe to these strange speeches, and we who do not listen to him/them.
