Playing a Friday evening match in the Premier League, Amsterdam’s Ajax scored a 3-0 home victory against Nijmegen’s NEC. Team captain Luis Suarez was the first to score, with a goal just before half time. Mid-fielders Siem de Jong and Mitchell Donald went on to score the second and third goals in the second half.
