In the Europa League, Ajax has won an away match against Romanian club Timisoara 1-2.
 
Luis Suarez and Marko Pantelic scored one goal each for Ajax. However, Suarez missed two penalties. Ajax leads Group A of the Europa League, and has qualified for the next round. FC Twente lost a home match 0-1 against the Turkish club Fenerbahce from Istanbul. The victory means Fenerbahce has qualified for the second round. FC Twente now ranks second in the group, and, with one more match to go, may still qualify for the next round.
