Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has arrived in Caracas on the third stop on his Latin American tour and will meet his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chávez later today. The two will discuss ways to increase bilateral cooperation.
On Tuesday, the Iranian leader held talks with Bolivian President Evo Morales in La Paz. They discussed further implementation of bilateral agreements worth almost one billion euros. President Morales repeated his support of Iran's quest to develop a nuclear energy programme and said Bolivia was even prepared to supply Iran with uranium.
There were demonstrations in the capital La Paz to both protest and welcome the Iranian leader. A group of feminists gathered in front of the presidential palace to protest Iran's treatment of women.
