Africa should "say no to coups"

Published on 2 February 2010 - 9:47pm
More about:

Africa has to say ‘no’ to coup d’états and electoral fraud.

This is the message President of Malawi Bingu wa Mutharika, the new president of the African Union, had for delegates at an AU meeting in the Ethiopian capital Addis Abeba in recent days.

A resolution was adopted at the conference to order Madagascan President Andry Rajoelina to find a solution to the country’s political crisis.

Rajoelina came to power a year ago after a coup.

The conflicts in Sudan, Somalia and the Democratic Republic of Congo were also on the agenda.
