In Afghanistan, at least eight people have been killed in two separate bomb attacks.
In the northern province of Kunduz, four NATO troops and two civilians were killed in a bomb attack. The dead NATO troops are rumoured to be American. Earlier in the day, at least two people were killed in a suicide attack on a convoy of army trucks in the southern province of Kandahar. The victims were not NATO personnel.
Since the US launched a major offensive against the Taliban in Helmand province last week, violence has erupted in other regions of Afghanistan.
On Sunday, a Dutch supply convoy arrived at a base in Kandahar after being delayed on its journey from Uruzgan by three roadside bombs and two Taliban ambushes. Seven Dutch soldiers were wounded in the attacks. They are all in a stable condition.
On Saturday, two employees of the Dutch aid organisation HealthNet TPO were kidnapped while travelling from the capital Kabul to the eastern province of Khost.
