Afghan President Hamid Karzai has submitted to parliament a new list of cabinet ministers. Last week parliament dealt the president a major blow by vetoing 17 of his initial list of 24 names.
Two posts have yet to be filled. President Karzai hopes to complete the formation of a new cabinet before an international donor conference begins in London at the end of this month. Parliament will study the new cabinet line-up next week. President Karzai was re-elected last year for a second five-year term, despite evidence of widespread election fraud.
