In Afghanistan, Perwiz Kambakhsh, who was found guilty of blasphemy at the beginning of this year has been freed. The 24-year-old student of journalism was initially sentenced to death for insulting Islam and the Prophet Muhammad in an article.
The death sentence caused an international furore, with Western countries demanding he be pardoned. The death sentence was commuted to 20 years' imprisonment at appeal. Afghan President Harmid Karzai has now granted Mr Kambakhsh a pardon.
