The Pakistani army says it has killed at least 30 Taliban fighters in the Swat Valley in the northwest of the country.
Taliban hideouts were reportedly attacked by helicopter gunships.
The operation was part of an offensive against the Taliban in which the army has been engaged for several months now.
On Sunday, at least 14 people have been killed in a suicide bomb attack on a police station in the town of Mingora in the Swat valley.
The suicide bomber walked into the building and blew himself up.
Most of the victims were recruits.
