The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Honduras, Mario Canahuati, says Honduras has restored diplomatic ties with 29 countries, all of which cut off contact with the country following the coup last year.
There are now still ten countries which have no diplomatic ties with Tegucigalpa, including Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela and Nicaragua.
Honduras was internationally isolated when President Manuel Zelaya was ousted in June 2009 in an army-backed coup, after which Roberto Micheletti took control.
Following international mediation, new presidential elections took place in November. Porfirio Lobo was elected and was sworn in last month. Mr Lobo gave Mr Zelaya permission to leave Honduras. Since then, an increasing number of countries are restoring diplomatic ties.
