APRIL 2011 - the month of the 'vote-offs'
More than two songs (the maximum allowed in the final) have been nominated for some countries, so we're asking you to choose which two should actually go to the final. We've call this process a 'vote-off'. Currently, we asking you to give your points in the vote-offs for:
MARCH 2011 - the month of nominations (CLOSED!)
It's started: the process of finding the song that will take the title won last year by the Netherlands' Caro Emerald and the song A Night Like This as suggested by our big winner Tim Luigjes!
For now and until 10 April, all you really need to know is that this is the time you to suggest songs that could represent your country* in this contest.
So, what do you need to do?
You may suggest songs for your *own country or another country but only ONE country.
- You may suggest one or two songs.
- They should be new or newish (maximum of two years old)
- They should not be major international hits - though they may be local hits.
- They may also be completely new
- They could even be by you, or friends - but the quality should be good
- If you submit 2 songs, one - at least - should be in a language that is not English
- Find a web link to a good quality audio or video file - preferably with images too - such as a YouTube link
Then, once you have decided on your song or songs. Put the name of the country you are nominating songs for, the correct name of the song(s), the correct name(s) of the performer(s) and your correct name and place of residence in an email. Mark the email WPC 2011 and send it to: before or on 10 April 2011.
Remember, later on you'll also be expected to vote as part of the jury of the country you nominate songs for.
More news will follow on our Facebook page, in our monthly newsletter and here on RNW.nl.
So, get your thinking caps on!
More info:
