Dutch swimmer Hinkelien Schreuder has broken a world record in the women's 100 metres individual medley at the world championships in Berlin.
Her time 57.54 seconds was six tenths of a second faster than the old record held by Chinese swimmer Zhao Jing.
In all 16 records were broken at the Berlin meeting, which is in itself a record. Almost all the world record breakers were wearing hi-tech swimsuits which are due to be banned on 1 January.
