Football hooliganism remains a problem in the Netherlands, despite the toughening of the so-called Football Act a year and a half ago.
Last year, an angry mob attempted to storm an office building on the grounds of Feyenoord stadium in Rotterdam. In Amsterdam, a drunken 19-year-old attacked a goalie on the pitch. These and other incidents have some politicians saying the law remains an insufficient deterrent.
