Betty Bigombe is one of the very few people who have negotiated with one of Africa's most brutal war lords, Joseph Kony. Kony was hiding in the jungle in Uganda when she managed to enter into talks with him and his movement, the Lord’s Resistance Army. In this interview, she recounts their encounter and reflects on what it takes to be an effective mediator.
