Election violence in Ivory Coast, previously considered one of Africa’s most stable countries. A new country: South Sudan. The rise of militant Islamism. In South Africa, ANC youth leader Julius Malema is provoking President Zuma. Music from the Barefoot Diva, Cesaria Evora from Cape Verde, who recently died age 70.
