Operation Vula tells the story of an extraordinary underground support operation. In the days of apartheid in South Africa, Dutch activists were involved in dangerous and secret operations on behalf of the ANC.
The aim of the activists was to pass messages from ANC members in exile to South Africa, and to smuggle ANC people, often in disguise, back into South Africa. The chairman of the movement in the Netherlands was Connie Braam, the main guest in this award-winning programme that was produced in 1993.
Guest: Connie Braam (Netherlands)
Producer: Veronica Wilson (Netherlands/Sierra Leone)
