Africa in Progress - Radio Show: A continent travelled for lost recordings

On air: 13 August 2012 0:00 - 20 August 2012 0:00 (Photo: Mirjam van den Berg)

More about:

Africa's music is a quilted patchwork of sounds that has grown out of many different traditions. Its influence can be heard in jazz, rap, and soul. For his new compilation album, DJ Blue Flamingo travelled the continent in search of lost recordings. He discovered a treasure trove of music preserved on crackly old 78 rpm records. He shares his wonderful experience with us.
