The International Criminal – or ICC – celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2012.
In its decade of existence the court has worked on 17 cases –all in Africa – but has convicted only one person - the Congolese warlord Thomas Lubanga.
One of the cases is that of former Ivory Coast leader Laurent Gbagbo. He’s accused of fuelling the post-election violence between November 2010 and April 2011.
The worst incident happened in a small west Ivorian town called Duekue, where at least 800 people were killed.
