Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Máxima are to pay an official visit to Brazil towards the end of the year.
The government information service has announced that the royal visit will last from 19 to 23 November. The crown prince and his wife will first visit the capital Brasilia, later followed by Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
The visit is intended to reinforce ties between the two countries, with a focus on economic cooperation, innovation and science.
The royal visit is prompted by the notion that Brazil is an emerging market offering many opportunities to Dutch businesses.
Willem-Alexander and Máxima will meet Brazilian ministers and government officials, pay working visits to companies and attend seminars.
The couple will be accompanied by the outgoing deputy economic affairs minister and a large delegation of Dutch businessmen.
