Clout
Research bureau Burson-Marsteller has drawn up lists of the most political influential twitterers in 26 countries. The rankings are based on twitterers’ Klout Score, which measures a person’s influence and their ability to drive action based on how often they are mentioned on Twitter and how often their messages are retweeted by others.
The study, which was conducted over a 90-day period, included politicians, journalists, bloggers, lobbyists and NGO executives.

Burson-Marsteller writes that the ten most politically influential people in the Netherlands have 63,040 followers on average, were mentioned 7,590 times and retweeted 14,420 times in the 90-day period covered by the study.
Other countries included in the study are France, the United States, Russia and Germany. The European Union's most influential twitterers include European Council President Herman van Rompuy and European Commission Vice President Neelie Kroes.
