Seven men were arrested in Rotterdam early on Sunday after a routine check resulted in a major drugs haul in which police seized tens of kilograms of drugs and several firearms.
Officers driving along Tholenstraat spotted four men standing outside a house. As the police approached, two of the men went into the house carrying a large bag. Just minutes later they fled from the house via a balcony at the back. The officers pursued and arrested the two suspects. A third suspect who tried to flee the scene was also arrested.
A police dog discovered a gun and gun parts along the route the two men had used in their attempt to escape the pursuing officers. The drugs and an automatic weapon were discovered in the house where they jumped off the balcony. Two other men present in the house were also detained. A total of seven arrests have been made in the case so far.
