Lonmin mine workers arrested two weeks ago after police opened fire killing 34 striking workers have been charged with the murder of their colleagues, an official said on Thursday.

"The court today charged all the workers with murder, under the common purpose law," the spokesman for the prosecutor's office Frank Lesenyego said.
