Nearly 40,000 young people have filled out a form indicating whether they want to become organ donors.

Last month nearly 200,000 young people born in the year 1993 received an invitation to state whether they want to become organ donors.

About 75 percent of those who returned the form stated they wanted to be registered as organ donors.

Out of the 5.6 million people who submitted the form, about 60 percent agreed to be registered.
