Tuareg rebels 'aim to seize several Mali towns'

A Tuareg rebel offensive in Mali is aimed at seizing several towns in the country's north, a spokesman said Wednesday as fighting between army troops and the rebels erupted in a third town.

"Our aim is to flush out the Malian army in several northern towns," the spokesman, who calls himself "Moussa Salam", told AFP by phone.
