Libya apologises to US over ambassador's killing

Libya on Wednesday apologised to the United States a day after US Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed when an armed mob stormed the American consulate in Benghazi.

"We present our apologies to the United States, the American people and the entire world for what happened," Mohamed al-Megaryef, president of Libya's highest political authority the General National Congress, told reporters in the capital.
