Kenyan deputy minister charged over ethnic unrest

A local MP from the region of southeast Kenya that has been hit by a wave of tit-for-tat ethnic attacks, was charged on Wednesday with incitement to violence.

Dhadho Godhana, assistant livestock minister and the MP for Galole in the Tana River delta, where 42 people were killed this week and hundreds of houses torched, denied the charges at a court hearing and was released on bail pending another hearing set for October 2.
