Heerenveen, NAC win, Excelsior lose

Published on 28 April 2012 - 10:18pm
More about:

Sc Heerenveen won a 4-2 away victory over Heracles, securing their place in the struggle for a place in the European competition. Heerenveen’s goals were scored by Bas Dost (twice), Luciano Narsingh and Filip Djuricic. Willie Overtoom and Thomas Bruns netted those for Heracles.

NAC secured a 3-1 away victory over FC Utrecht. An early goal by Frank Demouge first put FC Utrecht in the lead, but goals by Robbert Schilder, Alex Schalk and Jeffrey Sarpong in the last 20 minutes tipped the balance. NAC climbed to 14th spot, FC Utrecht remain in 12th.

Bottom-of-the-table Excelsior lost yet another match, and were once again beaten in the final minutes. Excelsior had taken the lead thanks to an own goal by Jan-Arie van der Heijden and a goal Roland Alberg. Vitesse then equalised following two penalties converted by Alexander Büttner, with Marco van Ginkel clinching victory.

VVV-Venlo ended a seven-match losing streak beating ADO Den Haag 2-1. Barry Maguire scored VVV-Venlo’s first goal. The equaliser was netted by Kenneth Omeruo, who went on to cause an own goal. In the second-half he was sent off the pitch after receiving his second yellow card.
