Hungarian police have arrested a Dutchman for the illegal possession of firearms.

A number of firearms, including a number of automatic weapons, were found at his apartment in the town of Miskolc, northeast of the capital Budapest. Police also seized a large quantity of ammunition.

It became clear during questioning that the Dutchman had smuggled the guns to Hungary, but to what end is not yet known. The search of his apartment was carried out by a special anti-terror unit of the Hungarian police.
