Dutch embassy in Tripoli to reopen soon

Published on 3 September 2011 - 4:36pm
More about:

The Netherlands will reopen its embassy in Tripoli as soon as the National Transitional Council moves to the Libyan capital, Dutch Foreign Minister Uri Rosenthal says.

The reopening, however, also depends on the security situation, in the view of the FM. Mr Rosenthal was speaking on the sidelines of a European Union summit in the Polish coastal resort of Sopot. “We’ll open as soon as possible.”

Due to the mounting violence in the country’s civil war, the Dutch ambassador to Libya returned to The Hague in March.
