Amsterdam Schiphol Airport ‘Europe’s best’

Published on 21 April 2012 - 1:11pm
More about:

Passengers have voted Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport the best airport in Europe, in a major survey carried out by the British Skytrax agency.

Over 12 million air travellers from more than 100 countries were questioned about the performance of 388 airports. Schiphol was praised for being well organised, so that transit passengers can find their way with ease. Its recreational facilities were also valued by travellers.

It is the first time that Schiphol has made it to the number one slot in the Skytrax European ranking which has been carried out since 1999 and is updated up to six times a year.

Amsterdam’s airport is in fourth place in the worldwide ranking, up from sixth place last year. Incheon International Airport in South Korea is number one in the world, according to Skytrax. Asian airports also come in second and third in the international ranking.
