More about:

The 2010 FIFA World Cup kicks off in South Africa on June 11, 2010. Radio Netherlands Worldwide brings you a series of video interviews of African soccer players playing in the Eredivisie, the Dutch first division.

These players come from the five Sub-Saharan African countries qualified for the World Cup: Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon and South Africa.

The player under the spotlight this week: The Nigerian Ayodele Adeleye.

The young defender (21) plays for Sparta Rotterdam in the Netherlands but has also been selected to compete in the 2010 World Cup with the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles.

"We can't say much about who is going to win the World Cup. There are big nations like Spain, Brasil etc. But we are working hard. The key is to unite as a team." he says.
