Angolan police have arrested two people in connection with the attack on the Togolese national football team's bus. The arrests were made in Cabinda, an Angolan enclave in the Democratic Republic of Congo, not far from where the attack took place.
The enclave is home to a separatist movement which has been fighting for independence for several years. The Togolese bus was shot at, killing three Togolese football officials and injuring nine players.
The attack has led to the withdrawal of the Togolese football team from the Africa Cup. In his speech at the opening ceremony on Sunday, Angola's President José Eduardo dos Santos condemned the attack but stressed that the competition would go ahead regardless.
The tournament got off to a spectacular start: host country Angola scored four goals before Mali caught up in the last 15 minutes bringing the final score to a 4-all draw.
