More about:

A molotov cocktail has been thrown at the house of Rwandan opposition politician Victoire Ingabire. The Kigali police confirmed to Radio Netherlands Worldwide that a water bottle filled with petrol was found in her courtyard.

Around eight o’clock in the evening Boniface Twagirimana, vice-president of the opposition party United Democratic Forces (UDF), was watching television in Ingabire’s house. Mr Twagirimana: “I heard a weird sound and went outside to have a look. There was a big fire in the garden and I found the burning bottle. Then I called the police."

Victoire Ingabire, opposition leader of the UDF, is currently in prison in Kigali, waiting for her trial. She is charged by the Rwandan prosecution for “association with a terrorist group, propagation of the ideology of genocide, revisionism and ‘sectarianism’.”
