Most of the demonstrators against the building of an Islamic community centre near Ground Zero in New York didn’t know who Dutch MP Geert Wilders was on Saturday. The organisers were unable to find a better-known speaker. In spite of this, many of the people at the rally were satisfied with his speech.
By Frank Kools in New York
Mr Wilders' speech was held on the ninth anniversary of the 11 September terrorist attacks. The leader of the Freedom Party (PVV) took his time before he called on New Yorkers to “draw a line” and oppose "the powers of darkness, the force of hatred", a reference to Islam. "A tolerant society is not a suicidal society," he said.
She just calls herself Xavier and took part in the rally against the building of the controversial Islamic center on the ninth commemoration of “9/11”, wearing a T-shirt with the text 'I am Geert Wilders'. "He is the bravest politician I know," the telecom employee from New Jersey explains.
"I only found out about his existence last year when I read a book by Ayaan Hirshi Ali," she says. "As soon as I found out more about him I became a fan. He dares to say out loud what Islam really is: a violent ideology. Mr Wilders is not afraid and that is why admire him."
At war
The idea that the Dutch MP really wants ban the Qur’an or tear out the pages until it is the size of a 'Donald Duck' is new to Xavier. She has difficulty with this idea, "because as an American, I am against burning books." But after thinking about it she agrees with Mr Wilders: "We are at war and that changes everything. We have to start defending ourselves somewhere."
Xavier was not the only demonstrator who had heard of Geert Wilders before. One man held up a banner which said 'Wilders for President'. Another man from an anti-fascism group shouted slogans against the 'Dutch neo-Nazi'. But they were in the minority. Out of the 2000 demonstrators against the Islamic centre and just as many who attended a simultaneous rally in favour of it, most did not know who he was or what he wanted.
Vaguely familiar
Anne Virgilio, whose 38-year-old brother Lawence died in the World Trade Centre, is shocked to hear that Mr Wilders wants the Qur’an banned. She is not anti-Islam, she assures me. "To me this is about pain. Why would anyone want to build a mosque in this place, where Islamic extremists created a bloodbath nine years ago. Why are they hurting us like this?"
To Dennis VanDina the name Wilders is vaguely familiar. Isn’t that the man who is being taken to court for his anti-Islam ideas? What his ideas are, Mr VanDina doesn’t know. But it does not bother him that Mr Wilders once compared the Qur’an to Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf . "It seems that they don’t have freedom of speech in the Netherlands," he states.
Main speaker
It says a lot about the demonstration, which took place on Saturday on the corner of the street where the Islamic community centre with a prayer room is planned, that to many people the main speaker was an unknown Dutchman. The street itself was cordoned off by the police. On the other corner, demonstrators gathered in favour of the centre.
According to polls a large majority of Americans are against the centre, but the organising committee 'Stop the Islamisation of America' has been so anti-Islam in the past that not a single national figure would take the stage at the rally. Nor was anyone from New York’s city council prepared to show face.
Dutch youths
Mr Wilders' speech went down well with the protesters. José Vazques from Connecticut thought the Dutchman could have been more provocative. "But he’s seen through Islam."
Anne Virgilio was pleasantly surprised. "I didn’t hear anything I didn’t agree with." Although a bunch of Dutch youths spoilt her enjoyment of the speech by making fun of Mr Wilders right in front of her. "I stuck a photo of my dead brother under their noses and asked if they thought that was funny. That shut them up."
She does not accept the idea that it would have been better to keep 11 September as a day of contemplation. "This is the best day for this rally. Because they want to violate 9/11."

15 years ago there where 7M Muslims in Europe. Today there are 52M. I have a little boy from 1,5 years old. When he is a teenager, Europe will have over 350M Muslims! God knows howmany in the US. 350M means, more violent, more unemployment, more islamic holidays, less freedom, more mosques etc. The todays politicians (left-wing) will not do anything against this. The countries have their doors wide open for chanceless immigrants. See Paris, London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin and many more large and mediumsize cities. Complete getto's are being developed, no-go areas if you are not a muslim.
When I think about all this, how my son will grow up, it gives me the shivers, its getting cold around my heart. Therefore, I believe its now the time to warn everyone, support Geert Wilders and all others who are now standing up against this threath. Talk with your neighbours, friends and family before it is too late.
The only non-Muslims who would "shocked" at the call to ban the Koran are those who haven't read it. Their blatant ignorance of what the Koran contains hardly inspires me to respect their opinion on the subject.
If I understand correctly, what Wilders has said is that SINCE "Mein Kampf" is banned in Holland, there is little reason not to ban the Quran as well, because it is every bit as warmongering as Hitler's tome. In fact, I've read both, and "Mein Kampf" is FAR milder and less hateful than the Koran. So, the Koran should actually be banned BEFORE "Mein Kampf."
Moreover, if Wilders can be tried for "hate speech" or something to the effect for simply exposing violent Quran quotes, then the book itself must be viewed as "hate speech," which it clearly is.
The world simply must get over its childish and hypocritical myopia when it comes to Islam. How much blood and gore will you accept before you see the light?
Is the Dutch media afraid or unable to say 'ICTS International'? We know that Geert Wilders and other Dutch politicos are covering up for them.We know the U.S.media had a block out of mentioning their company name on Christmas 2009 when they being in control of Schiphol Airport Amsterdam allowed the Nigerian 'crotch' bomber to board flight 253 from Amsterdam to Detroit. And we know the U.S.media is against informing its own citizens of the Israelis of ICTS International's role in the guarding of Logan Airport Boston on 9/11 as well as allowing or aiding Richard Reid the shoe bomber to board with his shoe bomb at DeGualle Paris shortly after 9/11.Are you guys not supposed to report that either cause I didn't find it in Dutch news english or otherwise following Christmas 2009 Amsterdam to Schiphol incident. Sometimes I believe we would have had more freedom including of speech, under Asddam Hussein than we do under present U.S.,UK,German,Dutch,etc.,regimes who overthrew him.At least women weren't required to wear chadors under his rule as they are today in Iraq under NATO 'rule'.
As an American I beg you Dutch to stand up and kick Israelis of ICTS International who 'guarded Logan Boston Airport where according to U.S.government the two planes that hit the WTC September 11,2001 ORIGINATED FROM.No more shoe bombers or crotch bombers or stock fraud from that criminal gang Geert Wilders and other Dutch politicos house at Schiphol.Pleeeease ! As an American I surrender just get the Israeli goons at Schiphol to cease and desist !:

We face significant potential liability claims.
As a result of the September 11th terrorists attacks numerous lawsuits
have been commenced against us and our U.S. subsidiary. The cases arise out of
airport security services provided for United Flight 175 out of Logan Airport in
Boston, Massachusetts which crashed into the World Trade Center. In addition, to
the present claims additional claims may be asserted. The outcome of these or
additional cases is uncertain. If there is an adverse outcome with respect to
any of these claims which is not covered by insurance, then there may be a
significant adverse impact on us. - Menachen Atzmon,ICTS International,SEC filing

WTC,9/11,ICTS International,NY Mosque:Netherlands Geert Wilders,Barack
Obama Declare 9/11 Official April Fools Day
What do Mansoor Ijaz,Barack Obama,Geert Wilders,NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg,
Asra Nomani,Judea Pearl all have in common besides opening their big
mouths again this
time re the construction pro or con of a '9/11 Mosque' ? They all know
that the two planes
that hit Rudy Giuliani's WTC and now Mayor Bloomberg's 'ground zer0'
on 9/11/01 were
under the 'security' of ICTS International-Huntleigh owned(through
stock fraud) by felon Menachem
Atzmon and his fellow Shin Beit Israeli crime family. They allowed
Richard Reid the shoe bomber who
Daniel Pearl was investigating at the time of his beheading in
Pakistan to board an American Airlines
flight to the U.S.from DeGualle Airport France even though they knew
who he was having facilitated his
trip to Israel on El Al from Schiphol Airport Amsterdam pre 9/11!
Most of the demonstrators in New York didn’t know who Dutch MP Geert Wilders was and 'not a single national figure would take the stage at the rally'?
I have no idea who the hell Frank Kools is, but his sanctimonious article basically states that the American people's opinion is worthless without the support of a national figure, while an elected European politician with a substantial Dutch electoral base and ever-increasing support in the West has no right to support his fellow democrats in the epicentre of jihadist mass-murder.
You don't have to be Einstein to state the truth about Islam.
