Dutch Crown Prince receives award in Africa

Prince Willem Alexander of the Netherlands has been given the AMCOW AfricaSan Award by the Council of African Ministers responsible for Water (AMCOW).

 
He was given this prize in recognition of his contribution as chairman of the expertise Council for water and sanitation by the Secretary General of the United Nations. His role in improving water, sanitation and hygiene in Africa has been welcomed by African leaders. He also received the award for his role in promoting awareness  among the leaders of the African Union.
 

The award was presented by the President of AMCOW, Mr Jean-Richard Ituoa, on November 12 in Johannesburg.
