Goran Stevanovic is promising a better performance from his Black Stars in their next African Cup of Nations game against Tunisia in the quarter-finals.

Ghana settled for a 1-1 draw at the Stade de Franceville against 10-man Guinea on Wednesday to progress at the tournament after topping Group D with seven points.

After racing into the lead courtesy a 20-yard volley from Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, the Guineans equalised deep into injury time of the first half.

Stevanovic felt his team suffered from being 'nervous' as all three group members - Ghana, Mali and Guinea - were in contention of qualification on the last day of group action. Mali eventually came through in second place.

"It was a very tough game," Stevanovic said after the game. "It was a very nervous game because Guinea needed to win and that complicated the situation."

"We started to win 1-0 but after one strange goal [Guinea equalizer] we continued to play and tried to win. We qualified but not practically [performance]. The only thing on our head is maybe not too much ambition, not too much intensity. We would be better in the next game."

Despite the performance of the Black Stars, Stevanovic says he was glad to get the game out of the way as he plans for the quarter-final clash with Tunisia on Sunday.

"I am happy with the result and being top in the group. We would see about the next game."
