American evangelicals finance Uganda's anti-gay movement

Published on : 25 January 2013 - 11:20am | By RNW Africa Desk (Screenshot: The New York Times)
More about:

This documentary video shows how some evangelical Christians from the US are fueling – and funding – anti-gay measures in Uganda. One proposed measure is an anti-homosexuality bill, colloquially known as the ‘kill the gays bill’ because of the death sentence it has at times carried with it.

Published as a New York Times op-doc on Tuesday, the clip draws on footage from 'God Loves Uganda', a documentary by film-maker Roger Ross Williams, premiering at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
