Air France pilots say the speed sensors recently failed on one of the company’s planes.
This happened on 13 June, during a flight by an Air France Airbus A320 travelling from Rome to Paris. The fault lasted only a few seconds and passengers noticed nothing.
A problem with a speed sensor is thought to be the reason for the crash of Air France Flight 447 on 1 June. The Airbus A330 was travelling from Rio de Janeiro to Paris when it crashed into the Atlantic Ocean three hours after takeoff. All 228 people on board were killed.
